Dials, forms and links usable by keyboard on the way to a reservation
Everyone planning a beach stay should be able to read these pages and send a request without trouble. This statement explains what the office aims for, what the site already does, where it may fall short and how to reach us if something gets in your way.
Our aim for this site
We aim for the site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, WCAG 2.1, at level AA. That standard covers text, color, structure and controls, and we check new pages against it before they go into use.
Words beside every picture
Photographs carry text alternatives that say what is in them. Each stay page draws a dial of which way the beach faces, and the same facts are written in words right next to it, so a screen reader reads the degrees and the sunrise and sunset in plain sentences.
Keyboard, zoom and contrast
Every link, field and button can be reached and used with a keyboard alone, in a logical order. Pages can be zoomed to 200% without losing text or controls. Text and backgrounds are chosen for clear color contrast, and nothing on the site plays sound or moving images on its own.
Known limits we are aware of
Each dial carries a text label that a screen reader announces, and the same numbers are written out in the sentence beside it. Some pages may still fall short in small ways we have not found. If you meet one, a short note to us helps us fix it.
Ways to ask for help
Call (330) 376-5814 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., or on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon, Eastern Time. Wednesday is the office's day for letters, so the phone is off then. You can also write to shore@rockawaybeachflix.com, or use the request form at any hour.
Help letters answered by five o'clock
Written requests that arrive Monday to Friday by noon Eastern are answered by 5 p.m. that day. Later arrivals, and anything sent over the weekend, are answered by 5 p.m. on the next weekday. Wednesday follows the same rule, with no phone calls in between.
