Terms of our Ohio planning work, before and after a reservation
These terms cover every request you send to the office and every quote we write back to you. They are written in plain words so you can read them before you ask for a room. If a line here is unclear to you, write to us and we will explain it.
An Ohio company on Grant Street
Rockaway Beach Flix LLC is an Ohio limited liability company with one office at 450 Grant St, Suite 100, Akron, OH 44311, on Grant Street near the University of Akron. Visits are by appointment only. Wherever these terms say "we" or "the office", they point to that company; "you" is whoever sends us a request.
Hotels with their own front desks
We plan drive-to beach stays at hotels, motels and resort hotels that run their own front desks, on Lake Erie in Ohio and at Erie, Pennsylvania, and on the Atlantic coast from New Jersey to North Carolina. You can look through our thirteen beach stays before you write.
We match a stay to your week, ask the hotel whether a room is open and write one quote you can read before deciding. After your written yes, we ask the hotel to hold the room in your name.
Free planning, paid by hotels
Our planning costs travelers nothing. There is no planning fee and no fee for asking a hotel to hold a room for you. After your stay ends, a commission comes back to the office from the hotel.
No payment is ever taken on this website. The hotel registers you at its own desk and takes the payment itself. It may ask you directly for a card to hold the room, and that arrangement stays between you and the hotel.
Figures and your written quote
Every price on this site is a working figure the office sets for a named month, from rates we found for each hotel on its own website or on travel sites, which is why it reads "from". The written quote replaces that figure with the hotel's actual rate for your dates, which can be higher or lower. When the two differ, the written quote governs. You can read how each figure is built in full.
Hotel terms govern your room
Once a room is held, the hotel's own terms govern your stay. The hotel is responsible for the room and for the services it provides, and it sets its own cancellation terms. Those terms appear in your quote, and our cancellation page explains how we pass them on to you.
Local charges and lodging taxes
Some beach towns and one wildlife refuge charge for beach tags, vehicle passes or parking. Those charges belong to the town or refuge that issues them, under its own rules, and you pay them there. Your quote lists the local charges we are aware of for your beach, along with the state and local lodging taxes the hotel will add.
Your part as a traveler
Give us accurate names, dates and numbers of adults, because the hotel relies on them when it holds a room. Read your quote in full before you reply yes. Follow the hotel's rules on photo ID and on the minimum age to check in, which the hotel sets and checks at its own desk.
A planning service with no parcels
Our work is a planning service. Nothing is shipped to you, and no physical goods change hands at any point, so there are no delivery or return terms to read here.
A future vendor and its own terms
At a later date the office may add a tool from another company to handle some functions on this site. If that happens, that provider's own terms will apply to its part of the work, and this page will say so plainly beside these terms.
Limits on our liability
Our responsibility covers the attention we give your quote and passing your yes to the hotel without delay. What happens at the hotel, on the road, at the beach or in the weather rests with the hotel, the town or nobody at all. To the extent Ohio law permits, liability on the office's side runs only to the planning work itself.
Summit County courts and revisions
The law of Ohio governs these terms. Any dispute about them or about our planning work will be heard in the courts of Summit County, Ohio, which is where our office in Akron stands.
The office may revise these terms, and revised terms apply to requests sent after they appear on this page. This version takes effect on October 31, 2026, and the date here tells you which version you are reading.
